C - Christian Supporter of the LGBT Community

Thursday 3rd April 2014

It is obvious that the most debated topic of the 21st century is wether or not the LGBT community should be given the right to marry or not. The loudest voices currently heard are those of the LGBT community and those of the religious community. Both are loud, pleading and full of frustration.

My voice is soft. It lacks judgment. It is of Christ.

One thing that many people within the religious community are misinformed about, is that they have a right to judge others. They have a right to claim a "damned to hell" fate over the LGBT community. They have a right to criticize their lives.  They have a right to tell them God hates them.

None of this is true... The Bible states;

Love is created by God.  A free gift given to us by him in all circumstances,  regardless of wether or not we deserve it. To be Christ-like is to love. I don't know about you, but telling anyone they are going to hell is not coming from a loving heart. It is not coming from a Christ heart.

Regardless of how a person decides to live, God loves them unconditionally without judgement.  Let us be the same.  Let us be like Christ.

Your Starfish Story is still being written. . . Have faith

  1. I was raised with religion but pray on my own and have steered away from it. I lead a conservative life and my turn off is the judgmental aspect. I found your post a breath of fresh air. BRAVO!
    #a2zchallenge great to connect ! I am #1547

  2. Forgot to add notify and I am interested in your answer also I am sharing this one !

    1. Thankyou :) I have been planning on this post for months and finally felt the push! I am not religious. I just have a strong relationship with God ;) ha. Thankyou for sharing. I honestly believe this kind of support is needed to be seen right through. It's sad the amount of fear the religious community has placed for the LGBT community.. I hope to see it change. Xx

  3. Well said, but I fear militant closed minded people on both sides won't change. The Kingdom of God is all about grace.

    1. I pray for softened hearts over this matter. Regardless if others begin to support the LGBT community, love and grace need to be shown.. not condemning them.

      I honestly do find it said when people in the LGBT community become misinformed themselves into believing all followers of Christ are against them. Certainly untrue.. x
